Virtual Events: Learning from the experts.

If you work in marketing or employer branding, lockdown LinkedIn is every connection asking the same question: ‘how can I run a good webinar?’

The thing is, that’s the wrong question to ask. Because there’s another industry that’s already got the knack of running interesting, engaging live content. It’s a little business called television.

So, at Hype Collective, instead of asking ourselves ‘how can we run a good webinar?’, we’ve decided to ask ourselves ‘what can we mere marketers learn from television?’

And we’ve lined up some absolutely killer pros to answer it.

We’ll be asking comedy writer Robin Morgan what brands can learn from the likes of Have I Got News for You, The Mash Report and 8 Out of 10 Cats when it comes to writing engaging and entertaining content. (He’ll know – he’s written for them.)

We’ll also be hearing from Hayley Rhodes who has produced live shows including The One Show, Jeremy Vine and The Wright Stuff looking to understand how she plans her shows and what we can learn from them.

We’ll be talking to speaker coach Alex Merry about how the likes of Apple and Facebook approach public speaking, and our own videographer Emily Munster how to get the most out of even the most basic of home lighting setups.

To top it all off, we’ll be speaking to a panel of graduate employers about how they’ve change their approach to events since lockdown began. The panel will include Sarah Delaney from PwC, Kema Davies from Microsoft and Kerry Blondell from Capgemini.

As hosts, Hype Collective will learn a lot. We’re sure you will too.

More guests to be announced this week.
