The Unis: Competition to recognise the best sports teams and societies across UK campuses to launch.
The UNIs, a nation-wide search for the university sports team or society that best supports it’s member’s ambitions is launching this year.
The national search will have a total prize pot of £10,000 for the winning sports teams and societies.
Founder of Hype Collective, Simon Lucey said “If you look at any elite athlete, musician or businessman they’ll all point towards a youth group of some form that helped them build skills and confidence. If we can do something to boost these groups then we’ll be chuffed”
First prize is a £5k investment for the winning society as well as access to mentoring opportunities. The Co-op have already signed up to be lead sponsors of the initiative however spaces are available for category sponsors.
Georgina Brough, marketing manager at The Co-op said “we recognise the important role that sports teams and university societies play in nurturing the next generation of talent and are super excited to be able to support this project. I can’t wait for us to get hands-on involved in mentoring and supporting these groups.”
Hype Collective will be responsible for promoting across UK universities. Categories that are available to sponsor include:

The winner of each category will be decided by public vote and then the overall winner will be decided by a panel including the sponsors, Hype Collective and a few industry leaders.
