Parents as Influencers

We’re looking to speak to parents about how they view the world of work for young people, and how they influence their children’s careers.

As part of ‘The Issues’, Hype Collective’s research platform, we’re looking at the role of parents as influencers in the lives of their children. We want to better understand parents’ attitudes early career jobs, degrees, apprenticeships and the world of work; to see how it differs to students and graduates.

Who can help?

If you are:

  • A parent
  • Have children between the age of 11 – 26
  • Care about your child’s career
  • Are comfortable with chatting to a Hype researcher about this topic

then we’d love to speak to you.

I’m a keen parent, what do you need from me?

You’ll be asked to take part in a short telephone interview with a member of Hype Collective, discussing topics from apprenticeships, degrees, the best fields to work in nowadays, right to the extent of your involvement in your child’s career.

The interview will only last 20-30 minutes, and they’ll be conducted towards the end of February. Any findings from these interviews will be used in our research pieces, however identities of the interviewees will remain anonymous.

If you’d like to get involved, please click here to fill out a short sign-up form and we’ll get in contact with dates and times for these interviews.
